Step into a tranquil oasis where relaxation is guaranteed amongst the olive groves and vineyards of this hilltop hamlet.
Borgo Argiano is an elegant and exclusive country wine estate located in the centre of Chianti and just 20 minutes from the historic city of Siena.
A serene location with endless views toward Monte Amiata and beyond, its roots date back to medieval times. Borgo Argiano offers spacious and sophisticated suites which have been carefully restored, decorated and furnished with a sense of relaxed luxury.
The property is set in beautiful gardens with a large swimming pool overlooking the vines and spectacular views.
Just a few minutes walk from the apartments is Argiano’s impressive cantina, here, guests can enjoy a personal behind the scenes tour of the award-winning winery, Tenuta Cappellina.
The estate stretches for 2km with most of the area covered in woodland with plenty of wildlife sighting opportunities including deer and wild boar. The lower border is defined by the river Arbia, made famous by Dante in his Divine Comedy as he described the river running red after the battle of nearby Monteaperti, where the Sienese defeated the Florentines in the 13th century battle depicted as the bloodiest battle of the Italian middle ages.
The main building boasts an inviting lounge and library for the use of our guests, adjoined by the al-fresco drinks terrace and surrounded by shaded courtyards.
At the centre of the hamlet you will find a romantic chapel decorated with frescos and stained-glass windows.
Whether you want to read a book, walk, cycle, swim or just laze the days away, Borgo Argiano offers you the perfect base to spend your Tuscan holiday. Perfectly placed at the entrance to the Chianti Classico hills, yet only 12km from Siena with it’s winding medieval streets and teeming central square, il Campo, scene of the famous Palio horse race twice each year.
